Mission:

The National Bison Range provides for a representative herd of North American bison under natural conditions and with a natural herd composition, and maintains this herd for public viewing. Over the years additional wildlife were introduced for a more balanced ecosystem. Education and interpretation have been added as a major goal. Ecosystem management and biodiversity are recent management goals.
The National Bison Range provides educational field trips, environmental education study areas, an environmental education campsite, a learning lab, an environmental education resource library, and teacher workshops.
