Mission:

Citizens For A Better Flathead (CFBF) is a Montana based nonprofit membership organization. CFBF has been a respected advocate for progressive planning in Flathead County since 1992. We have built successful cooperative relationships with both public agencies and other nonprofit organizations in our community and region to promote and achieve smart growth objectives.

Our goals include:

• Smart Growth in the Future - We promote broad based public participation in community issues and increased awareness of the importance of comprehensive planning to protect the ecological, cultural and economic values of the Flathead Valley.
• Smart Living in the Present - We offer programs examining growth issues facing our community and promoting neighbourhood planning; safeguarding air and water resources; protection of scenic values; preservation of agricultural resources; pedestrian, bike and transit friendly planning; waste reduction, recycling and composting options. 
• Strong Regional Networks - We work to forge collaborative connections with public agencies and other nonprofit organizations in order to share resources and opportunities to support local and regional smart growth initiatives.
