A Map Without Boundaries
Within the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem, there are two federal
nations, three tribal reservations, one state, two provinces, several
counties, and dozens of towns and cities, amounting to thousands
of miles of political boundaries. The ecological components and
processes that make up the Crown of the Continent do not pause for
a nanosecond at these boundaries. C.O.C.E.E.C. created "A Map
Without Boundaries" in 1995 to illustrate this point.
"A Map Without Boundaries" is a full-color digital mosaic
of satellite images of the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem, approximately
17 in. by 23 in. or 43 cm. by 58 cm. It serves as a companion piece
to Crown of the Continent: Profile of a Treasured Landscape, a 120-page
document describing the natural and cultural features of the Crown.
A teacher's guide and classroom activities are available to use
in conjunction with the map and Profile.
